The American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine aspires to make education accessible for everyone. However, they understand that financial circumstances may make it difficult for some to attend the college. So, ACAOM offers student loans for those who are interested in getting an education in acupuncture.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions about the college:

What kinds of student loans are available?
ACAOM offers the usual Federal Direct Stafford Loans as managed by the U.S. Department of Education. It comes in three types—Direct PLUS loan, Direct Unsubsidized Loan, and Direct Subsidized Loan. The Direct Unsubsidized loan is available for all, including graduate and professional students.

Who is eligible to receive financial aid?
The American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine says that a person must be a citizen or a permanent resident of the country to be admitted to the college. They must also be enrolling for a minimum of six credits and making satisfactory academic progress.

How much can I borrow, and do I have to pay any loan fees?
The unsubsidized loan has a cap of $10,250 per semester. Since ACAOM operates three semesters a year, students can borrow up to three times that amount. The PLUS loan has a loan fee of 4%, and unsubsidized loans have a regular charge of 1%.

How can I apply for a loan?
The American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine asks students to fill out the free application for Federal Student Aid online. It is available here. Students have to apply for their PIN so that they can apply. ACAOM’s Federal School Code is 031533.

The College does its best to provide support for students, particularly those who want to enroll but are not able to do so because of financial restraints. More information about financial assistance that is being offered at the University may be accessed here
